A Brief History
Sepah Consumers’ Cooperative was established in Tehran in early 1949 with a capital of Iranian Rials 32,500. Divided into 65 shares of Rials 500 each as nominal and attributed of articles 189-194 of Trading Law approved in the year by usage from related experts and self- assistance and voluntary collaboration from some of the friends of the Cooperative as well as guidance of experts in Labor Ministry, especially Mr. Colombin, the experts of International Labor Organization Sepah Consumers’ Cooperative Company was registered under No. 2998 on 19.05.1949. By the end of 1949 the number of the Cooperative members reached 944 and its capital exceeded Rials 772,000.
On the strength of over 60 years of dedicated market activity, Sepah Consumers’ Cooperative Company today has more than 60,000 shareholders from ordinary citizens in the country. The Cooperative owns and operates a total of 20 supermarket chain stores that serve the Iranian market mainly with a diverse range of food items in Tehran and other Iranian cities.

SUBJECT OF COMPANY

Purchasing of manufactured items, primary materials, instruments from major centers of manufacturing, factories, wholesalers, importers as well as direct imports.

Preparation, conversion and manufacturing of the kinds of consumer items with starting of workshops and by education of legal license.

Distribution of item among the members and the other consumers through covered chain shops and regarding to the price of approved prices.

Getting the loan and credit as well as making hardware requirements in order to materialization of company’s subject.
Preparation & Distribution of Pulses
It has taken a measurement for establishment of packaging workshop of pulses with the license of Industry Ministry in order to providing of packaged pulses.
The required pluses of workshop will be prepared by direct referring from manufacturing centers and in the level of farm and harvest place and/or usage from the view of local expertise individuals and after performing of buying, it will transport to packaging workshop directly. Delivering cereals to the workshop, will be winnowed, raked and then dusting, varnished and packaged.
In order to providing some of required items such as food butter, tea and etc. it has taken a measurement for getting the license from Ministry of Commerce after performing of studying and getting inquiry from manufacturing centers and foreign sellers by usage from opening of documentary credit in domestic banks that to take a measurement for purchasing and imports of attributed items.
The company besides its activities in stores, has also been active in the field of non-oil exports since many years. The company has exported pulses, sheep skin and pickled sheep skin as well as vegetable oil to foreign countries to the complete satisfaction of the foreign buyers.
Moreover, the company has imported since many years items such as butter, tea, milk products, many kinds of pulses. frozen chicken and other general merchandise for distribution in its stores.
Preparation & Distribution of Protein Materials
It has taken a measurement for establishment of workshop of protein packaging with regarding to necessity of distribution of white and red meats in the hygienic packages. The mentioned workshop is including of the most equipped and health of packaging workshops in the country that to be controlled by the license of veterinarian organization and under the supervision of expertise veterinarian.
In order to providing of red meat for packaging workshop of the company, a sub-commission for purchasing of livestock has been established in an industrial slaughterhouse . The mentioned commission has taken a measurement for purchasing of sheep and calf from non-formed market of livestock and the obtained corpses will be transferred to the workshop of packaging by usage from transportation fleet of company’s cold storage after killing and selling of non-feed pollutant.
